General Info

  • Who?
    • Senior Competitiors (17 and + as of December 31, 2026); participants born in 2009 and before
    • Self-identified within one of the Para-Climbing Sport Calsses: Classification System | Climbing Escalade Canada
    • Open to participants from outside of Canada!
  • How?
    • Open Event – every para-climber can register!
    • All participants must be a member of their National Federation (ex: CEC, USA Climbing). If you are not a member of any National Federation, we ask you to purchase the Canadian Para-Climbing License.

 

Training Camp

A National Team Training Camp will be held in conjunction with the Championships. All Canadian citizens who competed at the event are invited to participate. The camp will be limited to 15 participants, with spaces filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Schedule: Sunday: 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.; Monday: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Location: Canyon Escalade

Additional details regarding the registration process will be shared shortly.

 

Classification

For the 2026 Event, we will conduct “self-classification” and utilize the Honnor System. Upon registration, we kindly ask that you self-identify within one of these classes:

  • AU2 (Upper Limb Amputee *not allowed to use prosthetic)
  • AU3 (Hand impairment)
  • AL1 (Bilateral Lower limb impairment)
  • AL2 (Unilateral Lower Limb Amputee *prosthetics allowed)
  • B1 (Visually Impaired: Completely or almost completely blind *must wear blindfold during competition regardless of sight)
  • B2 (Visually Impaired: Moderately blind)
  • B3 (Visually Impaired: Legally blind with corrective measures)
  • RP1 (Range of Power: Severe impact)
  • RP2 (Range of Power: Moderate impact)
  • RP3 (Range of Power: Mild impact)

Merging of Sport Classes: If there are less than 3 athletes registered in a single sport class, the following merging patern will be used.

Preliminary Schedule

Friday February 6th

  • 7:00pm – Technical meeting

Saturday February 7th

  • 7:30 am warm up opens
  • 9:00 – 1130am Qualifiers Round (2 routes)
  • 1:00pm – CEC Town Hall

Sunday February 8th

  • 9:00am – Isolation Opens for All
  • 10:30am – 1pm: Final round (1 route)

Monday February 9th

  • National Team Training Camp, open to all, details to come
