CEC Strategic Planning – Community Survey
At Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC), we are committed to developing and improving the sport of climbing across the country. As an athlete-centred organization, everything we do is focused on supporting climbers and helping them reach their full potential. To guide us in this mission, we are creating a new strategic plan, and we need your input! Whether you’re an athlete, coach, gym owner, volunteer, or supporter, your voice is essential in shaping the future of climbing in Canada.

What is Strategic Planning?
Strategic planning is the process of setting goals, deciding how to achieve them, and creating a roadmap for the future. For CEC, this means planning how we can better support athletes, enhance competition opportunities, and create programs that benefit climbers across the country. A strong strategic plan ensures we make smart, focused decisions to advance the sport in the right direction. It helps us stay aligned with the needs of athletes and the climbing community, so that we can offer the resources and opportunities needed to excel.
Why is Strategic Planning Important?
Without a clear plan, it’s easy to lose focus or waste time on things that don’t truly help athletes or the sport. A strategic plan gives us direction and helps us prioritize what’s most important for the climbing community. Strategic planning also helps us anticipate challenges and create solutions before they become roadblocks. By being proactive, we can continue to build a vibrant and supportive climbing environment for everyone.
Why is Community Input Important?
Climbing is a community, and a strong plan is built on the collective wisdom and experiences of everyone involved in that community. That’s why it’s so important that we hear from all corners of the climbing world — from athletes to coaches, gym owners to volunteers. By gathering diverse perspectives, we can ensure that the strategic plan truly reflects the needs of the entire climbing community, while maintaining an athlete-centred focus.
How Can You Get Involved?
It’s easy! We’ve created a short survey to gather your thoughts on the future of climbing in Canada. Your responses will help guide CEC in creating programs and initiatives that directly support athletes and foster growth in the climbing community.
