CEC is proud to announce that our very own Stacey Weldon, Member of the CEC Board of Director and President of the Athlete Commission, has been selected by the IFSC to be part of the Women’s in Leadership Program of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF).
Every International Federation member of the ASOIF (33) was able to nominate 2 women leaders to take part in this series of online leadership courses for women within the sphere of International Federations. The IFSC called out to all the Climbing National Federations to submit the name of 1 deserving women leader in their community. Without a doubt, CEC submitted the name of Stacey Weldon for this program. It is with great excitement that we received confirmation that Stacey was amongst the very few selected for this international program!
Stacey is in her third year as a director with CEC and in her first mandate as President of the CEC Athlete Commission. She is a retired competitive climber, and has recently created an athlete’s commission for the Pan American Council (PAC). Stacey proves that there is a life after competition, and that remaining involved within the sport you love can take you to places you never knew possible.
Well deserved Stacey!
