Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the High Performance Director. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to help shape the future of high-performance climbing in Canada.
As the National Sport Organization for competition climbing, CEC is committed to fostering athlete-centred, ethical, and inclusive environments. The High Performance Director will play a key role in supporting and developing national team athletes to achieve success at prestigious international competitions, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games, IFSC World Championships, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage CEC’s High Performance Program, including the development of high performance plans and selection criteria for international competitions.
- Oversee the selection and monitoring of all National Teams and Squads.
- Collaborate with provincial and territorial sport organizations to support athlete development.
- Ensure compliance with CEC policies, including Safe Sport, anti-doping, and athlete agreements.
- Manage high performance budgets and deliver evaluations of program effectiveness.
Desired Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge, and abilities. However, we encourage applications from individuals who may not meet all these criteria but demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in the role:
- 4+ years of experience in high performance sport, or a combination of relevant education and professional experience.
- Proven leadership in multi-disciplinary, high performance environments.
- Strong consultative, facilitation, and decision-making skills.
- Technical expertise in elite competition climbing.
- Experience in high performance coaching or mentorship.
- Understanding of the Canadian high performance sport system.
- Bilingualism in English/French is considered an asset.
