Departure from AC
Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) would like to extend its sincere thanks to Michael Finn-Henry for his time, dedication, and leadership as part of the Athletes’ Commission (AC). Michael was elected as Speed Representative and Co-Chair in September 2023. After two years of valuable contribution, he has decided to step down from his role due to professional commitments. We are deeply grateful for his service and ongoing support to the athlete community.
Appointment Process
To fill the position left vacant following Michael’s departure, two positions on the Athletes’ Commission are now open for appointment. The AC is therefore calling for nominations for the following roles:
- Speed Representative (open to any gender)
- Vice-Chair of the Commission (male representative)
These roles may be combined or held separately. Candidates are welcome to apply for one or both positions. The appointed term will run until the next CEC Annual General Meeting (September 2026), where both positions will be up for elections.
Please note that the Vice-Chair also serves on the CEC Board of Directors, participating in regular monthly board meetings.

Nominations are open until October 20, 2025. The Commission will appoint the selected candidate during its meeting on October 24.
