Madison Richardson | Boulder |
Madison Richardson is a Canadian National Team climber and a dedicated advocate for the growth of Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC). Competing internationally since 2016, she has achieved multiple top-10 World Cup finishes and six semi-final appearances. Beyond competition, Madison contributes to the sport as a CEC Board Member. She also co-runs Richardsons Climbing, an educational YouTube channel documenting her training and sharing insights with the climbing community. |

Oscar Baudrand | Boulder Elite Lead Elite | Oscar Baudrand started climbing when he was 4. Climbing has been second nature to him for as long as he can remember, and he feels that he “has never not had climbing in my life,” so competing on the world stage means a lot to him! Babette Roy | Boulder Performance & Lead Development | From Montréal, Québec, Babette started climbing at 7 years old and started competing at 9. Her first World Cup appearance was in 2018. Since then, she has competed in more than ten World Cups and two World Championships. She was the CEC 2022-2023 and 2024-2025 Boulder National Champion. She has been on the national team since youth C. Outside of climbing, Babette is studying psychology at UQAM in Montreal and wants to do a second degree in pharmacy once she's done with her first one! | @babette._.roy |

Cedar Pidgeon | Lead Performance | Cedar is an 18-year-old climber based out of Squamish, BC. From a family of avid climbers, Cedar was introduced to the sport at an early age and has been climbing ever since. Originally starting outdoors, Cedar became the youngest Canadian to boulder v11 at eleven years old. She branched out to explore competitive climbing in 2015 and has since been working towards high-performance competitive climbing. Elise Villeneuve | Speed Performance | Based in Calgary, Alberta, Elise has been climbing her whole life. She started seriously training and competing in 2019. In 2024, she made the youth national team for speed climbing and that year, attended the Youth Worlds Championship in China, where she finished 15th. She also placed 5th at Senior Boulder Nationals and has attended a few North American Cups, with her highest finish being second in speed climbing. Ethan Pitcher | Speed Performance | Ethan Flynn Pitcher resides in Victoria BC, and started climbing when he was sent to the principal's office for climbing onto the school. Instead of getting in trouble, his new teacher, Adam Market, who was an ex-World Cup climber, asked him to join his climbing team. Fast forward to now, and he is a 3x consecutive national champion, has broken more speed records than he can count, and is now deadset on qualifying for the Olympics. | @_et_han |

Guy McNamee | Boulder Performance Lead Development | Guy (pronounced like Ghee) started climbing when he was 9 years old. He loved climbing around the house so much that his parents took him to a climbing gym, and he immediately loved it. Guy lives in Vancouver, BC. He trains at the Hive climbing gyms and the Richmond Olympic Oval. Kindar McNamee | Lead Performance Boulder Development | Kindar McNamee started climbing when he was nine years old. He started competing when he was about ten or eleven. He was naturally good at climbing, and he has always loved it. Matthew Rodriguez | Boulder Performance | Matthew Rodriguez hails from Toronto, Ontario, and climbs at the Hub. He started climbing when he was 10 years old at a summer camp. Zach Richardson | Boulder Performance | Zach Richardson, is 24 years old and has been climbing since 2008. He started climbing and competing when his parents opened a gym, Climber’s Rock, and has pursued high performance ever since! Aleya Morin | Speed Development | Aleya Morin is based in Toronto, Ontario and grew up doing gymnastics. She was introduced to speed climbing in August of 2023 and loved it. She competed for the first time in 2024 and is very excited about what is to come in 2025. | @aleyamorin |

Anna Kelley | Boulder Development | Anna is a dual citizen of the US and Canada but grew up climbing in Salt Lake City and still currently reside there. She started climbing at 8 years old on the Momentum climbing team and competed in multiple USAC Youth Nationals. From there she transitioned over to the Canadian circuit, won the Youth B Boulder Nationals and competed at the Youth World Championships. That same year she podiumed at the 2022 Senior Boulder National Championships and in the following year, won the 2023 Senior Boulder Nationals Championships. Caiya Taylor-Ainslie | Lead Development | Caiya was introduced to climbing by her dad at a very young age, primarily practicing on top-rope outside! She didn't start to compete until she was around twelve, motivated by such a strong community and fantastic role models in Kelowna. She didn't see much success in competition until this past year when she worked immensely on her confidence and understanding better how to optimize training in preparation to perform at bigger events. Last season, she was most proud of the growth in the mental side of competing, and this helped her to achieve some big personal goals - qualifying for her first international finals at the Richmond NACS event and winning her first national title at the Canadian Open Nationals. | @caiyatainslie |

Cedar Hendry | Lead Development | Cedar was introduced to climbing at the age of two. Five years later, she was old enough to climb as a petit grimpeur at her local gym (Action Directe / Le Crux – in Boisbriand, Quebec). At age 10, she joined their competitive team where she still climbs today. Throughout Cedar's climbing career, she has competed in all three disciplines, most recently at the 2024 Youth World Championships in Guiyang, China. In 2023, Cedar achieved her first national podium by winning the Open Speed Championship. During breaks from the competitive season, Cedar climbs outside in boulder fields and at crags from Quebec to BC. She particularly likes developing new boulders with her dad and friends. Chloe Earle | Lead Development | Chloe started climbing when at 7 years old and began competing locally in BC when she was 11 years old. Since then, she has competed internationally at the Youth World Championships as well as at several senior World Cups. She has competed in the Lead World Cup semi-finals in Indonesia in 2022, and qualified to compete at the open World Championships in 2023. | @Chloe_earle |

Emilia Callanan | Boulder Development | Emilia is a 20 year old climber living and training in Ottawa, Ontario. Having started climbing at 13 and competing soon after, she has represented Canada at two Youth World Championship events and is now focused on the transition to the senior circuit while working towards a Bachelor's of interdisciplinary science at Carleton University. | @emilia.calll |

Erika Velev | Speed Development | Erica started climbing at the age of eight while living in Bulgaria. Initially, it was a once-a-week after-school activity, until the age of nine, when she joined the team and started training more seriously. She spent several years on the Bulgarian national team, competing in all three disciplines. In 2019, she finished 9th at the World Junior Championships in speed climbing and finished 2nd in the combined ranking at the European Championships. In 2022, Erica joined the Canadian national team and shifted her focus towards speed climbing. She also attended her first senior World Cup. Evangelina Briggs | Boulder Development | Evangelina is 18 years old and has been climbing for the past 7 years. She lives in Limehouse, Ontario. In the time that she has been climbing, she has won 5 Youth National Gold medals in bouldering/lead and became the youngest Canadian female to win Open Bouldering Nationals. | |

Ines Ferrarini | Speed Development | Ines is a Montreal-based climber currently in high school, planning to study Cinema and Communications at Dawson College after graduation. She started climbing at seven at her local gym’s Discovery Team and began competing by ten. In her early competition years, she primarily specialized in bouldering and lead, with only occasional speed climbing. After COVID, she felt the need for a change and gradually shifted her focus from lead to speed climbing. This transition paid off as she earned her first national speed podium in 2022 at 14, qualifying for the Youth National team. Molly Dreher | Boulder Development Lead Development | Molly Dreher started climbing at the age of 8 and began competing at 12. She made Youth Team Canada at 15 and transitioned to the Open circuit at 17. With a deep passion for the sport, she is eager to continue pushing herself on the international stage in the years to come. When she’s not training or competing, Molly studies Kinesiology at Queen’s University. She also serves as the lead representative on the Athletes’ Commission. Sienna Chow | Boulder Development Lead Development Speed Development | Sienna Chow is 16 years old from Surrey, BC, and started climbing when she was 5 at her home gym, Coastal Climbing Centre. Sienna also trains Speed at The Rock Wall Climbing Gym in Maple Ridge, BC. She has been competing since she was 8 years old. Sienna has won multiple youth national championships and medaled in senior nationals across all three disciplines. She has represented Canada at three Youth World Championships. Adrien Levesque | Speed Development | Based in Blainville, QC, Adrien is 19 years old and started climbing at the age of 3. He was introduced to the sport by his parents. Braeden Bossert | Speed Development | Braeden is a speed specialist who lives and trains in Victoria BC. He started climbing in 2019 and first competed only 3 years ago in 2022. Over the past three years, Braeden has a Jr. National Championships gold and bronze medal, a silver medal at a North American Cup and several international appearances including Youth World Championships, 2022 and 2023, and the 2024 Pan American Championships. Evan Lau | Lead Development | Evan Lau is an 18-year-old climber from Calgary, Alberta who began his climbing journey in 2017. Despite starting late, he quickly made a name for himself, qualifying for the Canadian Youth National Team for three consecutive years. Evan has earned six national champion titles and is one of the only athletes to hold a triple crown. Jack Whitney | Speed Development | Jack Whitney was introduced to climbing at the age of 3 by his dad, a high school climbing teacher. His passion for the sport grew quickly, and by 2022, he qualified for his first Youth World Championships. In 2023, Jack made his debut on the World Cup circuit and joined the senior national team. Since then, he has specialized in speed climbing, attending two more Youth World Championships and making finals at the Pan American Championships. In addition to his climbing career, Jack works at The Boulders Climbing Gym as a route setter and coach. Sean McColl | Boulder Development Lead Development | Sean is a veteran of Team Canada having started climbing in 1997. He has 200 World Cup and World Championship starts under his belt which is the most in IFSC history. Sean set his lifelong goal when he qualified and competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. TJ Foley | Lead Development | TJ is a 20-year-old who found his passion for climbing through a birthday party when he was 10 years old. He grew up living in Kimberley BC, and has now moved to Calgary Alberta where he spends his time training, coaching and route setting. So far in TJ’s climbing career he has made a total of 4 Youth World Cups and has accumulated 7 national podiums, 5 in youth and 2 in open. Currently, he has a goal of making the open team and competing in the World Cup circuit. Victor Baudrand | Boulder Development Lead Development | Victor started climbing outdoors at the age of 5, but he fell in love with competitions at the age of 8, and he has now been climbing for 16 years. He is a member of the Canadian team and competes on the IFSC World Cup circuit in both bouldering and lead. Over the past three years on the World Cup circuit, he has had the opportunity to climb in semifinals and finals, with his best result being a 5th place finish at the Chamonix World Cup in 2021. Recently, he had the chance to represent Canada at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. Currently, he is living in Seoul for his studies but will soon return to Montreal. Alannah Yip Based in Vancouver, BC, Alannah started climbing at the age of 6 following in the footsteps of family friend Sean McColl. She competed all through her youth and has been on the World Cup circuit since 2016. She has 70 World Cup starts, 20 semi final appearances, and is the only Canadian female to have made a World Cup final. In 2020 she won the PanAmerican Championships and booked her ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games where she competed in the summer of 2021. Indiana Chapman Indiana Chapman is a 20-year-old professional climber from Toronto, Canada. She’s been climbing since she was 7, and has been representing Canada on the international stage since she was 13. Finding great success on the Youth Circuit, she placed 4th at the Youth World Championships in 2017 and 2018, and won the Youth Pan American Championships in 2017, along with 10 Youth National titles in Canada. For the past two years, Indiana has competed on the World Cup circuit. This past October of 2023, she placed 8th at the Pan American Games. Making the decision to specialize in lead in the upcoming seasons, Indiana is working hard towards the 2028 Olympics. Madison Richardson Madison started climbing in 2011 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, at Grand River Rocks Climbing Gym and started competing in 2014. Madison has been on the Canadian National Team since 2016 when she qualified for the Youth World Championships in lead and boulder. After many years competing in both disciplines in Youth and Open, she decided to specialize in bouldering in 2017. In 2018, Madison made her first Open National final in bouldering, coming in 4th. Since then, she has yet to step off the podium at Nationals! On the World Cup Circuit, Madison's first IFSC Boulder Season Ranking was 86th in 2019, and in the latest 2023 season, she managed to push that ranking to 24th. Rebecca Frangos Becca started climbing at the Vision climbing gym in 2008 and began competing on the youth circuit in 2010. Growing up in Canmore, AB she took to a variety of outdoor sports at a young age but it was climbing that became her biggest passion. Her first World Cup appearance was in 2015 in Toronto and since then has competed at 40 World Cups, 3 World Championship events and most recently the 2023 Pan American Games. Her best World Cup result to date is 29th at the Chamonix Lead World Cup in July 2023. Focusing on a single discipline this year, she is excited to see what the Lead World Cup season brings. Outside of climbing, Becca has a science degree in Biology and Psychology and works part-time as a Support Worker for kids with disabilities. Sophie Buitendyk Sophie Buitendyk is 23 years old and currently resides in Victoria (BC), where she studies Geography at the University of Victoria. She started climbing when she was eight after joining the youth team at Project Climbing Center in Abbotsford. Being on the youth team really fuelled her love for the movement, challenge, and community involved in climbing. In recent years, she has spent more time climbing outside and have grown to love and appreciate the outdoors as a way to get away from the business of daily life. Currently her home climbing gym is BoulderHouse, which has locations in Victoria and Langford. Her favourite style of climbing is typically technical, pody position intensive climbing on an overhang. Ethan Flynn Pitcher Ethan Flynn Pitcher started Climbing competitively when he was in Grade 4 after finding out his teacher was an ex World Cup climber, years later he started Speed Climbing in 2019 where he placed 2nd at Nationals and went on to the Youth World Championships. After the pandemic he returned to the sport and attended his first World Cup where he broke the National Speed record for the first time. Pitcher has since continued to push that record further and further lowering it 5.48 seconds claiming National Champion titles and making multiple World Cup Finals along the way. He found a really strong interest in competition climbing and is committed to be on the IFSC circuit one day. Michael Finn-Henry Michael Finn-Henry began his climbing career with USA Climbing, achieving early success with a bronze medal at the IFSC Youth World Championships in 2017. He later transitioned to competing for Canada, utilizing his dual citizenship. In his climbing career, Finn-Henry has broken the Canadian men's speed record twice, with his fastest time being 5.59 seconds at the 2023 Salt Lake City World Cup. He has also achieved notable placements in international competitions, including a top-10 finish at the IFSC World Cup in Villars, Switzerland, in 2018. Oscar Baudrand Oscar was first inspired to climb when he lived in Thailand at the age of 4, following in the footsteps of his older brother. It wasn’t till he moved to Salt Lake City at 6 where he started improving quickly. He quickly progressed to the national youth level in Canada and the US where he brought home multiple national titles. Victor Baudrand Victor began competition climbing at the age of eight, although his parents and his younger brother Oscar enjoyed the climbing recreationally long before climbing became serious. Victor started his competition journey in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was part of a local youth team. Victor progressed rapidly and decided that his next step would be to test his abilities in Canada. Since 2017, Victor has represented Canada at international competitions. From first representing Canada at the 2017 Youth World Championships in Innsbruck, to recently competing in the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago Chile, Victor has invested many years into competition climbing.
