The stage is set for the debut edition of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) Nations Grand Finale 2025, taking place in Fukuoka, Japan, from October 23 to 26.
This new invitational event will bring together some of the world’s strongest national teams for combined Boulder and Lead competitions, showcasing teamwork, strategy, and innovation in a unique format that highlights national team collaboration.
Team Canada Line-Up Representing Canada at this inaugural edition are Matthew Rodriguez, Hugo Dorval, Babette Roy, and Riley Doherty, with Coach Dallas Mix supporting the team in this coach-forward competition.
Climbing Escalade Canada thanks the IFSC for its financial contribution supporting CEC’s participation in this exciting new event.
International Field
A select group of nations—Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, South Korea, and the USA—will showcase a mix of Olympic experience, World Championship pedigree, and rising stars.
The competition will feature standout athletes such as Olympians Sorato Anraku, Dohyun Lee, Chaehyun Seo, and Miho Nonaka, alongside several climbers who competed at the 2025 IFSC World Championships in Seoul.

Athletes will compete under a new format emphasizing collaboration and strategic decision-making. National coaches will play an active role, developing round-by-round approaches with their teams.
Inspired by the successful Boulder Mixed Team event first tested in Salt Lake City in 2021, the Nations Grand Finale expands the concept to include both Boulder and Lead, creating dynamic and engaging team interactions.
