Request for Expressions of Interest Volunteer Medical / Para-Medical Support Staff 2026 World Climbing Youth World Championships – Arco, Italy

Jun 4, 2026

Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) is seeking expressions of interest from qualified medical and para-medical professionals interested in supporting the Canadian Youth National Team at the 2026 World Climbing Youth World Championships, taking place July 18–25, 2026, in Arco, Italy.

The Youth World Championships are the premier international youth competition in sport climbing and include Boulder, Lead, and Speed events for youth athletes. Canada’s team will include selected Youth National Team athletes competing against the top youth climbers from around the world.

This is a self-funded volunteer opportunity. CEC is seeking individuals who are able to contribute to the performance, health, and wellbeing of youth athletes in a high-performance international competition environment.

Interested applicants may include massage therapists, athletic therapists, physiotherapists, physicians, chiropractors, and other qualified sport medicine or para-medical practitioners.

The selected individual or individuals will report to the CEC Youth National Team Head Coach and work collaboratively with CEC team staff to support athletes during training, preparation, competition, recovery, and daily team operations.

There may also be an option to attend the preceding Youth National Team training camp in Innsbruck, Austria, prior to travel to Arco. This camp provides an opportunity to support athletes during final preparation and to integrate with the team environment before the World Championships.

Preferred candidates will have experience working with youth athletes, competitive sport teams, travel-based environments, and/or climbing or other high-performance sport contexts. Candidates should be comfortable working in a collaborative, athlete-centred, and developmentally appropriate youth sport environment.

All selected support staff will be required to complete CEC athlete safeguarding requirements prior to participating in any team activity.

Interested individuals are invited to submit a brief expression of interest outlining:

  1. Relevant qualifications and professional designation;
  2. Sport or youth athlete support experience;
  3. Availability for the Innsbruck training camp and/or Arco Youth World Championships;
  4. Any previous experience in climbing, international competition, or team travel environments;
  5. Confirmation that they understand this is a self-funded volunteer opportunity;
  6. Confirmation that they are willing to complete all required CEC athlete safeguarding requirements.

Expressions of interest should be submitted by email to:
