Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) came together with CEC Youth and Senior National Team Athletes to celebrate our collective dedication to Sport Climbing in Canada, and the national training facility at the Richmond Oval.
CEC’s High Performance Program (HPP) has been designed to enhance athlete development and performance through support from dedicated CEC Coaching Staff, Training Camps, and access to Canadian Sport System resources. After successfully sending two athletes to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the HPP is focusing on its new goal of preparing our Canadian National Team for the upcoming Olympic qualifying events and sending athletes to the future Olympic events in Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028.
On August 8, 2022, a Partner Engagement Event was held during our Youth World Championship Training Camp to celebrate our collective commitment to CEC athletes in achieving their athletic goals and acknowledge the commitment of several funding partners, including Arc’teryx, The Richmond Oval, Bold Climbing, and Nomad Walls.
CEC would like to add a special shout out to the many individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes. We are excited about the future of sport climbing at a competitive level in Canada, and look forward to supporting our athletes succeed on the international stage.

Arc’teryx, the global design company specializing in technical high-performance apparel and equipment, has entered into a multi-year agreement with CEC to support competition climbing at a national level. This partnership is designed to champion the development and growth of competitive climbing in Canada over the next years

The Richmond Olympic Oval is an indoor multi-sport and fitness facility that inclusively caters to community members and visitors at any fitness level. The Oval has partnered with CEC to support the development of community, provincial and national level athletes through the delivery of HPP programming and services, access to world class facilities and equipment, and the hosting of CEC training camps, competitions, and events.
Nomad Walls is the Official Wall and Flooring Partner of the CEC HPP and worked closely to build and develop a new boulder training wall at the Richmond Oval.
