Climbing Escalade Canada launches 2025–2026 Licenses

Sep 10, 2025

The 2025–2026 Athletes, Coaches, and Officials Licenses are now available! An exciting season is upon us—purchase your license today! Your license not only provides you with the opportunity to compete at the regional and national levels, but also directly supports your national organization in delivering its mandate to grow and elevate competition climbing across Canada.

Since its creation 8 years ago, the CEC license has been a cornerstone of Canada’s competitive climbing ecosystem. It ensures that every athlete, coach, and official is registered, insured, and eligible to participate in all CEC-sanctioned events—from Youth and Senior Nationals to North American Cups and international competitions. Licenses also support Canada’s national ranking system, high performance pathways, and Team Canada selection processes.

Beyond access, the license is a commitment to the community. By renewing each year, members directly contribute to the sustainability of climbing in Canada, helping fund athlete development, Safe Sport initiatives, para-climbing growth, officials and coaches training, and the delivery of world-class national events.

2025–2026 Update

After four seasons of keeping license fees unchanged, CEC will be introducing a 10% adjustment for the 2025–2026 season (valid September 1, 2025 – August 31, 2026). This small change helps us keep pace with rising costs while ensuring your support continues to fund safe, fair, and professional competitions across Canada. Most importantly, it allows us to invest in the development of athletes, officials, and events that keep our community strong. We remain committed to keeping fees competitive within the sport sector and to delivering the high-quality experiences our members expect and deserve.

**NOTE TO COACHES: We are currently experiencing technical issues with our 2M system connecting to the CAC Locker. As a result, some requirements may incorrectly appear as incomplete (e.g., Mental Health in Sport). Rest assured that when coaches purchase their license, we will manually update and validate any missing requirements. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue and expect a solution soon.

Linked to the new Strategic Plan

This announcement comes alongside the launch of CEC’s 2025–2028 Strategic Plan — From Today to L.A. , which outlines the organization’s roadmap toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The plan is built on five values—athlete-centred, accountability, sustainability, inclusivity, and excellence—and commits to strengthening the high-performance program, expanding youth and para-climbing pathways, modernizing Safe Sport, and diversifying revenue streams.

Together, the license program and the strategic plan reinforce CEC’s mission: to support and elevate Canadian competition climbers and paraclimbers, and to lead a world-class high-performance system that enables success on the world stage.
