Sep 22, 2025

Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) is proud to announce that Climb Newfoundland and Labrador (ClimbNL) has officially joined the CEC family as its newest member organization. ClimbNL’s membership will take effect on January 1, 2026, marking a historic step forward in the growth and development of climbing across the country.

With this exciting addition, all climbers from Newfoundland and Labrador are now represented at the national level. ClimbNL has played a central role in fostering the climbing community across “the rock,” and its formal integration into the CEC network will strengthen collaborative efforts to support athletes, coaches, officials, and recreational climbers throughout the province.

“We are thrilled to welcome ClimbNL into the CEC family,” said Christiane Marceau, CEC Executive Director. “This partnership opens the door to new opportunities for growth and development, and ensures that the voices of climbers from Newfoundland and Labrador are part of shaping the future of our sport in Canada.”

CEC looks forward to working hand in hand with ClimbNL to expand access to climbing, build sustainable development pathways, and continue promoting Canada as a strong and inclusive climbing nation.
