Climbing Escalade Canada Welcomes Speed Athletes to Victoria, BC for 2026 Speed National Championships

Jan 29, 2026

Victoria, BC — Climbing Escalade Canada is excited to welcome Canada’s top speed climbers to British Columbia this weekend as the 2026 Speed National Championships kick off on Saturday at The Boulders, Saanichton, BC.

A total of 92 athletes will take to the wall across four categories — Senior (17+), U21, U19, and U17 — all competing for national titles and a place among Canada’s fastest climbers.

The event carries high stakes for the country’s emerging talent. U19 and U17 athletes will be racing for a chance to qualify for the 2026 Youth World Championships in Arco, Italy, marking a key milestone on the international pathway for Canada’s next generation of speed specialists.

Spectators from across the country can follow the action live on BetaBreakerz’ YouTube channel. Viewers are encouraged to listen for the PB Bell — when you hear the “ding,” it means an athlete has just broken their personal best time. With the level of competition on display, Canadian records may also be challenged throughout the weekend. Follow the results live on cec.results.info
