Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) wishes to issue a correction to its October 28, 2026 announcement of the 2026–2027 National Competition Season.
In that announcement, Grip It Climbing in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, was incorrectly identified as the confirmed host of the 2027 Youth Boulder Western Regional Championships, scheduled for April 17–18, 2027.
While Grip It Climbing had been considering the opportunity, no formal commitment to host the event had been made. Following further consideration, the facility determined that it does not currently have the resources required to host a competition of this scale.
CEC acknowledges that it misunderstood the status of these discussions and prematurely announced Grip It Climbing as the host. We take full responsibility for this error and sincerely apologize to Grip It Climbing and the climbing community for any confusion caused.
CEC is actively working to secure an alternative venue, and a new host for the 2027 Youth Boulder Western Regional Championships will be announced shortly.
We sincerely thank Grip It Climbing for considering this opportunity and for its continued support of the climbing community.
