Climbing Escalade Canada Hosts Second Annual Para-Climbing National Championships
Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) is proud to host the 2026 Para-Climbing National Championships this weekend at Canyon Escalade, in La Prairie, QC, marking the largest para-climbing competition ever held in Canada and the second annual national championship event dedicated to the discipline.
Bringing together the country’s top para-climbers alongside international participants, the Championships represent a major milestone in the continued growth of para-climbing nationwide. The event showcases high-level competition across multiple sport classes and highlights Canada’s commitment to inclusive excellence in climbing sport.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural edition, the 2026 Championships reflect rapid momentum in athlete participation, technical development, and community engagement. While the event serves as a premier national competition and selection environment, it also maintains a strong focus on community, connection, and enjoyment, creating a welcoming and celebratory atmosphere for athletes, coaches, volunteers, and spectators alike.
In addition to the Championships, a national para-climbing training camp will take place alongside the event, supporting athlete development and strengthening Canada’s high-performance pathway in the discipline.
Spectators, partners, and supporters are invited to follow the competition through the official event page on the Climbing Escalade Canada website. Fans can also track results updated in real time via the CEC Result Platform throughout the weekend.
Para-climbing continues to be one of the fastest-growing areas of competitive climbing in Canada, and this weekend’s Championships stand as both a showcase of elite performance and a celebration of community, resilience, and the joy of sport.
