General Information Regarding COVID-19

As of March 11, 2020, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for the general population in Canada, we note that this assessment can change rapidly and encourage the community to stay up-to-date regarding COVID-19 developments. Competition Series

The CEC and the PSOs are continuing to assess the risks associated with holding events during the COVID-19 outbreak and are currently working through the risk assessment matrix provided by PHAC and the WHO. The CEC and the PSOs are also working to adopt appropriate event policies, protocols and best practices that will be implemented at upcoming Provincial, Regional and National events and we hope to share these with the climbing community shorty.

The CEC has been advised by the Canadian Sport Institute that as of March 3, 2020, there is currently no indication that event organizers need to delay or postpone sporting events in Canada, or to recommend limits on Canadian-based travel at this time. The CEC and the PSOs are committed to providing the climbing community with timely information regarding the status of Series Provincial, Regional and National competitions however, the situation has the potential to change rapidly and we ask the community to be understanding during this time of uncertainty.
