Technical Meeting

General Info

  • When? November 23-24, 2023 (Boulder) / Rest day November 25 / November 26-27, 2023 (Lead)
  • Where? The Hive Surrey (Boulder) and Richmond Olympic Oval (Lead)
  • Who? Senior Athletes (16+ as of December 31, 2024)
  • Registration? Athletes must qualify through their Provincial and Territorial Organizations

Parking

  • Boulder @ Hive Surrey
    Please Park in either a Hive logo’d spot OR numbered spot.
    Hive logo’d spots are free; numbered spots are paid parking, it’s only ~$2/day (at the time of writing), so please ensure you complete payment as they do ticket.
    Please do not park in our neighbours’ allotted spots! (Fun Park, Calvary, or CDI)
    Do not leave any valuables or visible belongings in your vehicle, there have been occasional incidents of theft
  • Lead @ Oval
    Parking for the day in the lot is $20 on weekends and $2.50 per hour
    There is free 2 hr parking on River Road just west of the Oval

Food

  • Boulder @ Hive Surrey
    There are not a lot of food options near the gym – we suggest packing a lunch/snacks!
    Local options (within 3-7 min drive) are McDonalds, Subway, or A&W

Wednesday – November 22nd

  • Check in – Must notify the Technical Delegate, Sebastian Powell at [email protected] by 4pm if you or someone you are responsible for will not be competing
  • Technical Meeting – 6pm ZOOM LINK

Thursday – November 23rd

  • Warm up area opens at 1pm
  • Qualifiers 2:30pm – 9:00pm (4 on 4 off, 6 problems. IFSC Flash Format)

Friday – November 24th

  • Isolation Semi-Finals: 10:30am – 11:30am
  • Semi – Finals: 12:00pm – 2:30pm (5 on 5 off)
  • Change Over: 2:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Isolation for Finals: 5:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Presentation of Athletes: 7:00pm (Observation to Follow)
  • First Climber: 7:30pm (World Cup – Men and Women at the same time)
  • Awards to Follow

Saturday – November 25th

  • Rest Day

Sunday – November 26th

  • Warm up opens: 7am
  • Qualifiers: 8:30am – 2:30pm (2 routes – Flashed format)
  • Change Over 2:30pm – 6:00pm
  • Isolation Semi-Finals: 5:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Observation: 6:30pm
  • Semi Finals: 6:45pm – 9:15pm

Monday – November 27th

  • Isolation Final: 3:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Presentation of Athletes: 4:30pm (Observation to Follow)
  • Women’s Finals: 5:00pm – 5:45pm
  • Men’s Finals: 6:00pm – 6:45pm
  • Awards to Follow

Athlete Registration

  • Once qualified, athletes can register on the CEC Membership Site.
  • Cost: Boulder $190; Lead $205
  • Athletes must also create an account on the CEC Vertical Life Platform (if they don’t already have one)
  • Registration Deadline for both disciplines – November 12, 2023, at 11:59pm ET
  • Foreign National Participants can apply here

Waivers

    Athletes must have completed both Hive Waiver (19+) OR Youth AOR (Under 19) & Media Release in order to compete

    IMPORTANT NOTE for YOUTH: Athletes 18 or younger (minors) must have a parent or legal guardian complete their AOR & Media Release prior to Nov. 22
